The Co-equal branch of government
In the SOTU, Bush referred to Congress as the "co-equal branch of government."
According to the NY Times this morning, the White House is refusing to turn over to the Senate Judiciary Committee the legal opinions it obtained and upon which it relies to justify it's warrantless domestic surveillance program.
It seems they are saying, "We know we're right, but we won't tell you why, and you have no right to ask."
So much for the co-equal branch of government.
