Idiots
Senator Sessions basically argues that we should all give up our civil rights because 3,000 people lost their civil rights during the attack on the World Trade Center. This is the most ridiculous, assinine argument. Tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of people are losing their "civil rights" every year due to lung cancer, heart attacks, automobile accidents, etc. Is Sessions doing anything about that? The answer is no. He votes to take money away from programs that might reduce the number of those deaths. Yet, he wants us all to give up our civil liberties in order to catch a few nuts who might or might not stage another attempt.
Furthermore, there is no evidence this program has done anything to deter or catch the creeps. The only "plot" supposedly uncovered was the nut who wanted to take down the Brooklyn Bridge using a blow torch. Somewhere recently I saw a story saying that even that guy was caught through other means. But, even if he hadn't been, how long do you think he would have been able to tinker with a blow torch on the Brooklyn Bridge before someone spotted him and caught him? I'm guessing maybe fifteen minutes. How much damage could you do to the bridge with a blow torch in fifteen minutes?
But, I guess we'd all better go cower in our duct tape treated houses and let the President become king.
