Bush tells Congress where to shove it
Well, it was only a matter of time. The Easter recess was drawing to a close and Bush had to find a way to flash the bird at Congress one more time, just so he could jeer, "Nyaw, nyaw, nyaw. I win, you lose."
So, as I predicted at the beginning of the recess, he made two more recess appointments yesterday. In this case, it was the two public trustees to the Social Security system who have already served one term, and who were nominated by Bush for a second term.
Since the concept of public trustees was to bring new blood into the system every term, but Republican and Democratic leaders in the Senate opposed the reappointment. So, since he wasn't going to get Congress to give him his wish, Bush went around Congress one more time, just to prove he can.
What a wimp!
