The drums of war

According to Raw Story a LA Times/Bloomberg poll finds that the public, by a vote of 48% to 40% favors bombing Iran. The good news is that 54% think Bush will make the wrong decision.

I'm worried about the 48%. I'm afraid that most Dems will take that as a sign they should be war mongers and support Bush wherever he leads, just like they did with Iraq. What it really means is that the Dems need to begin redefining the issue so that people will understand that nuking Iran is a VERY BAD IDEA!

A bombing, which most experts seem to think will do little to stop the Iranian effort itself, will cause nuclear weapons to spread faster -- out of perceived self-defense against the U.S.

The simple message: like someone flailing around in quicksand, it will only make things worse.
