More tax cuts for the wealthy
With Lyndon B. Johnson, we tried to have both guns and butter. With George W. Bush we try to have guns and Lamborghinis.
House and Senate Republican negotiators reached a final agreement yesterday on a five-year, nearly $70 billion tax package that would extend President Bush's deep cuts to tax rates on dividends and capital gains, while sparing about 15 million middle-income Americans from the alternative minimum tax.

"Guns and Lamborghinis" vs. LBJ's "guns and butter" -- that's a good one. Like the "Paris Hilton Tax Relief Act," the more we can succinctly conjure up how they believe what's good for the wealthy is good for the country, the better.
