News blackout?

Please someone, explain to me why it is that the main stream media is totally ignoring the story that the White House is using the NSA telephone data to spy on reporters and their sources despite the fact that it was revealed directly to one or more of them.

It's mind boggling, but I can't find a single reference to it in any mainstream source. (Note: I haven't been watching the cable channels, so I can't speak for them).
