Ugly times indeed

The Germans, the Swedes, the Italians, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Filipinos, the Dutch, the Finns, the Danes, the Hungarians, the Lebanese, the Armenians, the Poles, the Greeks, the Lithuanians, the Latvians, the Ukrainians, the Russian Jews, the other Russians, the Czechs, the Slovaks, the Rumanians, the Bulgarians, the Croatians, the Bosnians, the Iranians, the Cubans, the Haitians, the East Indians, the Pakistanis, the Koreans, the Laotians, the Thais, the Vietnamese. These are waves of immigrants who came to the United States of America over the past 200 years – yet somehow, someway, we, as a country, found the basic human decency not to insult them officially with a declaration that we don’t want their native language to be heard in this country. These are very ugly times in America.
