Chaos in Baghdad

Insurgents set up roadblocks in central Baghdad and opened fire on U.S. and Iraqi troops today. I guess we've really turned the corner there, now that we killed al Zarqawi.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The Iraqi government declared a state of emergency and imposed a curfew Friday after insurgents set up roadblocks in central Baghdad and opened fire on U.S. and Iraqi troops just north of the heavily fortified Green Zone.

One wonders how much worse it can get. I still remember the hectic, panicky helicopter evacuation of Saigon from the roof of the U.S. Embasy. I guess that would be worse, but not much.
