District Court: Discrimination on basis of religion, race, national origin okay
Now, it's okay to discriminate against non-citizens on the basis of religion, race or national origin:
Pretty soon, we may declare non-citizen immigrants to be sub-human. Then perhaps, Tyson foods can then slaughter them, dice them up, can them, and sell them as artificial chicken bites.
A federal judge in Brooklyn ruled yesterday that the government has wide latitude under immigration law to detain noncitizens on the basis of religion, race or national origin, and to hold them indefinitely without explanation.I'm not sure how far this departs from prior interpretations of the immigration law, but it certainly moves us one step further away from the moral high ground.

Seems like spitting on Jefferson's grave is de rigeur, these days.
Of course, when writing the Declaration, he lived in a time of peace and political unity and had no concept of how difficult "rights" would be to maintain in the midst of deep, violent conflict.
