Pro-traditional family candidate had two wives at the same time
From the San Diego Union Tribune:
I find two things interesting about this piece. First, of course, is the story itself. It's a perfect example of the hypocrisy that runs rampant in the Republican party and the religious right in general.
The second interesting thing is that the San Diego Union Tribune feels it has to offer a rather apologetic explanation for outing the guy. "These checks are part of the newspaper's election reporting process." I very much doubt they would have felt the need to say that if it was a Democrat they had outed.
Republican Jim Galley, who is running for Congress as a “pro-traditional family” candidate, was married to two women at the same time, defaulted on his child support payments and has been accused of abuse by one of his ex-wives.
The San Diego Union-Tribune discovered the personal history in making public-records checks on Galley, who is making his fourth run for elective office in four years. These checks are part of the newspaper's election reporting process.
