The war within the administration

Steve Clemons believes there's a war going on between Cheney and John Bolton, on the one hand, and Condi Rice and the State Department on the other over the decision to offer direct negotiations with Iran. Cheney/Bolton, of course, don't ever believe in diplomacy, so they have been dead set against negotiations with anyone over anything for as long as anyone can remember. We know how well that worked with North Korea! Rice has been supporting the move, but may be out on a limb that Cheney and Bolton are sawing on.
