In case you’ve forgotten the reasons why McCain is being a flaming idiot
McCain develops his bona fides as a demagogue the right-wing could love – with the now commonplace tactic of blaming Clinton for everything, this time the North Korea mess. (My gosh, outside of this country we’ve got the Iraq mess, the Mother of All Messes, and the Iran mess, now the Korea mess, while inside we’ve had the 9-11 mess, the deficit mess, the healthcare mess, the disappearing pensions mess, the Katrina mess. What has happened on Bush's watch that isn’t a mess?)
But I digress – back to the McCain pander. First, of course, is the simple fact that Clinton left office six years ago. Even Charles Osgood this morning became an Administration stooge on CBS Radio by forgetting that elementary fact. But beyond that, it is simply wrong as history. If you want an excellent refresher, this excerpt will help. Remember how Bush undercut Colin Powell, who early on said it was a “no-brainer” to continue and build on the Clinton policy initiatives? Remember how he undercut the Prime Minister of South Korea, who was trying to defuse the conflict on the Korean peninsula, at the same time he humiliated Powell? Here is the story of another diplomatic mess created by these infantile people. Want to join them, Senator McCain?
