Some good muck

If you want to read some good muck, try this article about Jim Gibbons, the Republican who is running for governor of Nevada on a platform of getting rid of the illegal aliens. Apparently he had an illegal alien working for him as a housekeeper and nanny for years. He even told her to go hide in the basement when reporters and others came to the house. Even though he denies the charges, it appears he and his wife supported the housekeeper's petition to gain legal status, and the wife signed a document in that action saying the housekeeper had been working for them for several years and that they were paying her $800 a month [in cash with no Social Security, etc.]

The Gibbons claim this is an extortion attempt, and, who knows, maybe it is, but it does seem pretty clear nevertheless that the Gibbons knowingly hired an illegal alien and deliberately failed to make FICA payments -- both violations of the law.
