War crimes R us
Well, here it is again, another expose of the vicious brutality practiced by "We the People". MSNBC, in the second of a series of reports, details maltreatment meted out by "military intelligence interrogators" upon Mohammed al-Qahtani, a Saudi suspected (not, of course, charged with anything) of being the missing, 20th 9/11 hijacker.
The article, "Can the ‘20th hijacker’ of Sept. 11 stand trial?", describes how some miltary criminal investigators and lawyers sought to stop the abuse, unsuccessfully. The article is worth reading, but steel yourself.
If the military has any honor, certain active and retired, senior officers should be summarily discharged or disowned. John Yoo and whole series of The Regime's consigliere should be disbarred and banished to Uzbekistan. Mr. ("only four hours?") Rumsfeld and AG Gonzalez deserve trial for war crimes or crimes against humanity.
Having these people represent the USA in any manner is an offense to human decency.
UPDATE:
Just found Glenn Greenwald's post on this same MSNBC article. Longer and more elegant than mine, to be sure, he concludes:
"Take action", he says: Nuremburg sounds about right to me.

A serious accounting is due with regard to the conduct of our government -- not because such an accounting satisfies vindictive urges or is politically beneficial. It is because Americans have the right -- and the obligation -- to know what has been done by our Government and in the name of the United States, and to take action in response to it.
"Take action", he says: Nuremburg sounds about right to me.
