Notwithstanding the upcoming election here, there are things going on elsewhere in the world. For example, it looks as though Daniel Ortega has been elected president of Nicaragua:
This, of course, is just one more thorn in Bush's side, since Ortega sides with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Because of that, Bush is very sensitive about election "anamolies" in Nicaragua even though he's happy as a clam about Republicans stealing the vote here. Bush's team of election inspectors in Nicaragua claims there are "anamolies" even though the investigators from the OAS say things went fine.
Early election results suggest that Daniel Ortega, the Sandinista leader, could return to power as the Nicaraguan president after 16 years.
With more than 14 per cent of the polling stations counted, Ortega had 40 per cent of Sunday's votes and a lead of almost seven points over his nearest conservative rival Eduardo Montealegre.
Sunday's election in the Central American nation is the latest stage for the proxy war between Venezuela and the United States for regional influence.

General elections in Nicaragua were in accordance with the law, the head of the observers mission from the Organization of American States (OAS) said on Monday in Managua.Meanwhile, the U.S. electoral observation delegation issued a statement to the media which reported "anomalies," and advised to "not draw conclusions until the process has been completed."
