The American Taliban march on. The Kansas Attorney General has prevailed in his court battle to obtain records from abortion clinics so he can pursue crimes -- such as statutory rape when two fifteen year olds have consenual sex and a pregnancy results. Of course, the real reason is that this guy wants to harass the doctors performing the abortions.
TOPEKA, Kan. -- The state attorney general said Tuesday night that his office has received the records of 90 patients from two abortion clinics and is reviewing them for possible crimes, the culmination of an effort that prompted concerns over patient privacy.

Hey, WallDon. I feel like I jumped on your bandwagon once with the Iraq post. So I won't try a separate post on abortion as well.
But I did see this really interesting item today from Tristero, The Lie Of "Equal Extremism", about yet another "balanced" piece in the NYT about the abortion controversy in South Dakota.
Tristero's piece is a great read. He quotes the NYT article, ". . . the most extreme arguments are nowhere to be found. No bloody fetuses fill billboards, no absolute claims are being offered about women’s rights."
As Tristero points out, these are an odd pair of "extremes". He comments, "And that's the reason . . . why I say that the culture war in this country isn't between the left and the right, or the religious and the secular. The culture war is really between extreme rightwing fanatics and the rest of us."
