What's next?
Our first inlking of how Bush will handle this humiliating defeat will be in his 1:00 pm EST speech this afternoon. Somehow, I just can't see him handing out any olive branches. Nor do I think we should accept them if he does. The man is simply not trustworthy. He's a complusive liar and will say or do anything to get his own way. You can't work with someone like that on the basis of trust. If you don't have iron-clad, enforceable agreements, he'll push you under the truck when you least expect it. So we need to be very wary.
Frankly, I'd be happy with complete gridlock for the next two years. It's so much better than where we were going before.
