"No abuse at Guantanamo," say the abusers

The military investigates itself and finds no abuse at Guantanamo. Surprise, surprise:

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - An Army officer who investigated possible abuse at Guantanamo Bay after some guards purportedly bragged about beating detainees found no evidence they mistreated the prisoners — although he did not interview any of the alleged victims, the U.S. military said Wednesday.

Yeah. I talked to the guys accused of doing the abuse, and they denied it. Case closed.

Gee. If we ran our criminal justice system this way, there would be no crime, would there?
