Hope in despair
I read this story and started scratching my head:
Now why, I wondered, wouldn't Bush declare Hope a disaster area? Hmmm. Could it possibly be that someone famous was born there? Yep, I suspect that's it. Doesn't the Bible say something like the sins of the fathers shall be visited upon the heads of the children, even unto the third and fourth generation? I guess that applies to whole towns as well.
Sorry, Hope, but you haven't much hope. With Bill Clinton as your favorite son, you can't expect much sympathy from a Bush. Maybe you should change your name to Despair.
Days after tornadoes devastated their town, citizens in Hope, Arkansas are crying out that they still has not received help from FEMA, the federal government's emergency management agency.
As 8,000 government mobile homes sit unused only 160 miles away, FEMA says it can't employ them until the tornado-ravaged area is declared a federal disaster area, CNN reports. As that has yet to happen, the trailers sit idle.
