Whitewater in infancy and GOP manipulations of justice
Thanks to Mahablog, I found this article, "An Awful Legacy of Bush 41", on a prior case of shenanigans involving GOP/White House attempts to use Republican US Attorneys as part of a nakedly partisan scheme to discredit a Democratic candidate just before an election.
In short, Charles A. Banks, US Attorney in Little Rock in 1992, acted with commendable integrity, and paid the price. Hold the lawyers' jokes, please.
