The strange death of neo-conservatism?

Juan Cole, the University of Michigan professor of Middle Eastern studies, has an extremely interesting analysis of Nancy Pelosi’s trip and how it might signal the disavowal of the neo-conservatives by both the Israeli government and AIPAC – which would certainly be a breath of fresh air. How could they not recognize that the violently utopian theories of the Richard Perles and Elliot Abrams’ of the world have made Israel less secure, not more as promised? That preemptive war with phony justifications opposed by almost everyone in the world would not, could not possibly, come to a good end for anyone remotely involved?

We were trying to tell you so, Mr. and Ms. Mainstream Media, and it’s time we -- and you especially -- made these bad and stupid people slink away in public disgrace.

What's strange is that, if Cole is right, it took this long for the lightbulbs to flash on. DUHHHHH!
