White Hat American Myth

Chi Tom's post just below this regarding U.S. troops incarcerating suspects in Iraq skewers the myth perpetuated by the Administration's double speak that America and its military forces always wear the white hats.This spin is nothing new to wit:
"When someone makes a move of which we don't approve, who is it that always intervenes. U.N. and OAS, they have thier place I guess, but first, send the Marines. ...We only want the world to know that we support the status quo. They love us everywhere we go, so first, send the Marines."
