An Iraq bill that makes sense

The next bill on Iraq funding may be coming together for the Democrats. See this report from Americablog. Funding through mid-summer only, Pentagon must give a report on progress at that time. There will be a lot of pressure from both sides against sugar-coated reporting. As Rahm Emanual says, the President is hell-bent on dumping the problem in the lap of the next President, all other Republicans are hell-bent on getting the problem out of their hair well before November 2008.

I think it’s a brilliant solution. If the President vetoes this one, the burden of proof as decided by the mainstream media will finally shift to him instead of the Democrats in Congress. My guess is he won't.
