The grand vision

Remember Bush's grand vision of stabilizing the Middle East by invading Iraq, supporting friendly governments, eschewing Iran and Syria, and fomenting democracy in region? It's really working well, isn't it?

There are now three civil wars raging; one in Iraq, one in Lebanon, one in the occupied terretories of the Palestinians. Chaos reigns. Iran's power has increased immeasurably. Israel feels threantened and threatens war on almost anyone in return. Egypt has retreated from its promises of democracy. Al Qaeda's strength grows. Musharaff is likely to be deposed. The Taliban are returning to power throughout Afghanistan.
