A challenge to the new law making Bush king
I just read this:
Frankly, I doubt this will go very far, much as I wish it would. I can't think of any constitutional grounds on which the new law would founder, and, since Congress passes this obscenity, I don't see what other grounds it could be challenged on. This obscenity lies squarely in the lap of the Democrats, and every time any one of us gets a chance to talk to our elected representatives, we should make that point until they are embarrassed into doing something about it.
Lawyers for Guantanamo Bay detainees asked a federal judge Thursday to invalidate a days-old law that lets government agents eavesdrop on suspected terrorists without first getting court-approved warrants.
