The real enemy

You may have already heard that Stu Bykofsky called for another 9/11 in his column today in the Philadelphia Daily News. The reason we need another 9/11, according to Bykofsky, is that we no longer remember who the real enemy is. According to him, the real enemy is the terrorists (whoever they are).

I'm sorry, but terrorists are not the real enemy. Yes, al Qaeda is an enemy, but it is not the real enemy. The real enemies are those who use the fear of the terrorists to dismantle our democracy. Unfortunately, I fear they have already almost totally destroyed it and meaningful voices of dissent from those in or aspiring to power are still few and far between.
