Am I missing something?
With the Republican presidential candidates climbing all over themselves to get into the seats on farthest right hand side of the bus by pandering to the worst of far right extremism, are they not setting themselves up for a total, overwhelming defeat when they have to confront the real voters in the electorate after they have won their party's primaries? I mean, here they are, each trying to prove he is more pro-Iraq war than the next, each trying to prove he'll start the next war with Iran faster than the next, each trying to prove he'll torture people more grotesquely than the next, each trying to prove he'll reduce business taxes and taxes on the rich more than the next, each trying to prove he'll screw the middle class more than the next, each trying to prove he'll tell women what to do with their bodies louder than the next, and each trying to prove he'll invade your privacy more than the next. None of these positions are at all popular among the mass of real voters. The only people they appeal to are the 25% that still love Bush. When these guys get to confront the real voters I can't believe they'll even be in the ballpark. Am I missing something?
