"Riverbend" apparently OK, out of Iraq

Courtesy of one of our legion of Left Coast readers, Riverbend, the pseudonym for a prize-winning young Iraqi woman who has been blogging from the front lines in her “Baghdad Burning” journal, has resurfaced. Her last previous entry was in April, and people were worried. Her family had reached the point where they felt they needed to get out of iraq, but doing that is apparently, as one might expect, or as the neo-conservative Ken Adelman might put it, not a “cakewalk.” Yesterday, though, to the relief of many, she posted from across the border in Syria.

If you are not familiar with her moving work, it’s never too late to start.
