Democrats: next time, consider the source
I like Glenn Greenwald’s new title for General Petraeus:
Some would probably prefer what his commanding officer General Fallon allegedly called him to his face):
Consider this: the people who gave Petraeus that title (the first one, that is) are the same ones who made Congressional Democrats shiver in their boots over a play on words by MoveOn.org – who are the same people sniffing through a 12-year-old’s garbage cans (for daring to tell his family’s story in support of the children’s health insurance bill that Bush just vetoed), accusing him and his family of being liars, and inciting hate against his family while publishing the family’s address on the Internet. (You guess it, if you know the blogging world at all: the one doing her level best to incite violence by some nutcase against the family is the right wing Ann Coulter wannabe, Michelle Malkin. She's the one who became famous by writing that the internment of American citizens of Japanese descent during World War II was justified.)
When will the Democrats learn they can win more political points than they lose by telling these sick liars and their mainstream media minions to "F--- Off" when, for example, they are asked to vote for some face-saving resolution launched in response to one of these phony message machine tirades? Where is the Democrat helping them figure out, on the spot, just how to say "F--- Off" and win the media battle in the process -- how to make sure CNN and MSNBC technically can't edit it out of the soundbyte of the Democratic response they are willing to show? Does anyone remember, for starters, that there are all-purpose words like "ridiculous" or "absurd" or "stupid" will buy time? How about "lie"? Omigod! Does anyone remember that, no matter how Republican-leaning the mainstream press now is, they can't stay away from a real fight? You won't go to Partisanship Hell -- where the punishments are presided over by David Broder and David Ignatius, no doubt -- if you use real fightin' words now and then.
He Whose Credibility May Not Be Questioned, the High Honorable Gen. David G. Petraeus

“an ass-kissing little chickensh*t”
