Cartoons
Cartoons seem to be in the news these days. The caricatures of Mohammed published by several European newspapers have angered Muslims throughout the world, but especially in Palestine, where they are threatening to attack Danes, French, and other Europeans on sight.
Meanwhile, back here, a cartoon published in the Washington Post depicted a wounded soldier who has lost his arms and legs being treated by "Dr." Rumsfeld, who is saying, "I'm listing your condition as battle hardened." This aroused the fury of the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff who sent the Post a scathing letter on government letterhead, implicitly threatening the Post with retribution.
I'm a good deal more sympathetic with the Muslims than I am with the Joint Chiefs, but come on, don't all these people have better things to worry about? Like winning a war for the Chiefs and winning some peace for the Palestinians?
