Arab Democracy

The lead story on the front page of the NY Times today is entitled "Arab Democracy, a US Goal, Falters." The story goes on to blame the various Arab leaders around the Middle East for renegging on their promises to democratize. Seems to me the blame lies right here in the US. The Arab leaders have learned their tactics directly from Bush. He's teaching the "How to pretend you're a democracy while actually becoming a dictatorship" course to every aspiring dictator in the world.

Bush must love it though. They say imitation is the finest form of flattery.
