Attack on Iran imminent?

Raw Story is reporting that we've dispatched a fleet of aircraft carriers to the Arabian Gulf in what may be the immediate prelude to an attack on Iran in June.

I hope to God this isn't true, but I suspect it is. Why else would we send three aircraft carriers to the Gulf? With Bush plummeting towards zero in the polls, this is exactly the thing they would come up with to try to turn things around.

No Congressional approval? "So what?" he's likely to say. "It's my job as Commander-in-Chief to protect this country from every threat, and that's exactly what I'm doing. Congress can go suck eggs if they don't like it."

In fact, this may be the point where he declares himself perpetual dictator, since so much else is collapsing around him.
