Blair approval at 26%

Blair approval is even lower than Bush's:

A YouGov poll for The Daily Telegraph last night found just 26 per cent of voters were satisfied with the Prime Minister's performance, lower even than the 27 per cent rating for Harold Wilson in May 1968 after the devaluation crisis.

What I don't understand is why Tony Blair got so suckered by Bush. There's a story of a tragic flaw in there somewhere, but I don't know what it is.
