What did he say?

This seems as though it might be good news:

WASHINGTON - With less than a week before Congress begins its fall recess, Sen. Arlen Specter said he doesn't expect much action on the terrorism interrogation bill that's attracted so much attention.

Or on the bill regarding President Bush's secret surveillance program.

Or on comprehensive immigration reform.
Until you read the headline on the article:
Specter and Congress will finish interrogation, surveillance, immigration work
You wonder if the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.

This sort of reminds me of a photo I took in Venice a couple of years ago.  It was in one of the many piazzas and on the wall at the back of the piazza there were two signs to the "Piazza San Marco," one pointing one direction and the other pointing in the opposite direction.
