Karl Rove's October Surprise?

Updated below

We may be about to see Karl Rove's October surprise, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with Rove. At about 3pm today, the New Jersey Supreme Court will announce it's decision on gay marriage. The betting is that the court will legalize gay marriage in New Jersey.

Following that, you can bet that item will control the news cycle for the next week or so, with howling Rethuglicans frothing at the mouth about the evils of "activist judges."

If there is anything that will get out the Republican base, it's this I'm afraid.

Update:

The reason the decision is being released today is that the Chief Justice of the Court is required to leave the bench on her 70th. birthday, which is tomorrow.

The timing sure is suspicious -- worth investigation.
