A rant about Chris Matthews et al

Last evening I was watching Chris "Tweety Bird" Matthews Hard Ball on TV. He and his guests were discussing the war and the upcoming election. The guest, Republican contender for the Senate in Missouri, Jim Talent, concluded a pitch for Republicans by saying something like, "and even if you don't think the Republicans are that great, look at the Democrats. They don't stand for anything at all."

Tweety replied, "That's one thing that's for sure."

Now, dammit, I'm getting sick of this inside-the-beltway "wisdom" among the talking heads that the Democrats don't stand for anything. Just look at Nancy Pelosi's first 100 hours if you think the Democrats don't stand for anything.

And, by the way, why did Tweety decide to give Talent all this free air cable time?
