Was there a press campaign truth brigade I missed?

Is it my imagination, or did the entire official press (excluding the blog world, of course) totally drop any attempt to report any fact-checking of the campaign advertising – just when it was the Republicans were the ones who, perfectly predictably given the horrible substantive track record, did the most of it?

Whatever happened to that? The media truth squads were going to be a force to be reckoned with for those who would do misleading attack ads. Maybe it was just me.
