Bush is bouncing

Bush's approval ratings seem to be soaring. The latest USA Today poll puts him at 37%, up from 33% in November. And, Rasmussen had him at 45% a couple of days ago -- now down to 40%. I don't quite understand it, but I guess it's the fact that gas prices are down from their peaks a few months ago (albeit up significantly from their trough on November 7) and there's been some halfway decent job growth.

Maybe it's the fact that the mainstream media keeps perpetuating the myth that Democrats are weak and divided, while Bush is strong and confident (pigheaded).

I suppose we'll see a huge surge in his approval ratings after he announces his surge.

It is hard to overestimate the stupidity of the American public.
