All 49 Republican Senators may Filibuster Warner-Levin bill
This is incredible news if it's true. According to John Aravosis at Americablog, all 49 Republican senators may join in a filibuster of the Warner-Levin bill. That means that John Warner, himself, may filibuster his own bill.
I say, "screw them." (Although, if this weren't a family blog, I'd use a stronger expletive).
Bring it on. Let's force them to conduct a real filibuster. Close the Senate down to other business and force them to speechify in favor of the war 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a few weeks. I'm willing to bet that would break the filibuster really quickly. How many of these guys really want to be on TV supporting an escalation? How many of them want to be accused of closing down the government?
