What's up with al-Masri?
So what the heck is the real truth about al-Masri? First there are reports that he's been captured. Then, there are reports that he escaped. Then, there are reports that he's injured and on the run. And, then there are reports that none of the other reports are correct. I'm waiting to learn what really happened, but I'm going to speculate:
I speculate that, yes, we captured him and, yes, he escaped due to our bungling, and, yes, he was slightly injured during either the capture or the escape, and because the military doesn't want to admit to bungling the capture, they are now saying none of it happened. Just speculation ...

And I will speculate that there is no such thing as "al Qaeda in Iraq," or "al Qaeda in Mesopotamia." Doesn't take much to put up a website -- why I'll bet even someone at the Pentagon could do it -- and every foreign jihadist helping the Sunnis (a few hundred, probably) can be lumped into "al Qaeda." It's all too convenient for Bush and Cheney, and their channelers, to give the yahoos a connection with 9-1-1, and provide the justification to stay.
