Edwards pushes Dems to hold firm on Iraq

I'm delighted to see that at least one presidential candidate is pushing Congress to keep sending Bush the same supplemental funding bill he just vetoed. It's John Edwards, and TPM Cafe has his latest ad urging just that. I fear the Dems are going to fold on this one, but maybe with people like Edwards pushing them, they will have the guts to hang in there.

They need to capture the dialogue initiative better:

"No blank check, no blank check, no blank check. The President wants a blank check."

"We've given him the money. He's the one who vetoed it because it doesn't give him a blank check."

"The President has unrealistic expectations for what an occupation can do."

"Will the President hold his breath next time?"
