Rising temperatures prove global cooling

According to the WaPo, the Pentagon sees no decline in the violence in Iraq since the "surge."

Three months into the new U.S. military strategy that has sent tens of thousands of additional troops into Iraq, overall levels of violence in the country have not decreased, as attacks have shifted away from Baghdad and Anbar, where American forces are concentrated, only to rise in most other provinces, according to a Pentagon report released yesterday.

Notwithstanding that, Gen. Petraeus says,

If you drive around Baghdad, you'll find astonishing signs of normalcy

And Tony Snow tells us that the increase in violence is proof of the success of the surge:

During his press briefing yesterday, White House spokesman Tony Snow said the increasing chaos was a positive sign. The new levels of attacks “fit a pattern that we see throughout the region,” he said, “which is that when you see things moving towards success, or when you see signs of success, that there are acts of violence.”

Yes, and the increasing temperatures around the world are proof of global cooling, aren't they?
