Weak and useless

Now that a plurality of voters favor impeaching Bush and a dead majority of voters favor impeaching Cheeeneeey (as Tweetie bird and Cheeeeneeeey pronounce it), Katherine at Obsidian Wings asks (1) whether there are grounds for impeachment of either of them and (2) it makes political sense for Dems to do it.

My answer to the first question is unequivocal. Of course there are grounds. These guys have committed crimes against humanity, war crimes, crimes against the constitution, murder, rape, and you name it. Just the NSA wiretapping is enough to justify impeachment, but there is far more.

My answer to the second question is not unequivocal. Frankly, I don't know how this plays out politically. On the one hand, if the Dems don't try and the majority of the populace wants them to, they will look weak and useless. On the other hand, if they do try, and -- as is inevitable -- they fail to get it through the Senate or, perhaps, even the House, where they have a clear majority, the people will say they are weak and useless. So, take your choice. The Dems will look weak and useless either way.

Then, there's me and this blog. I try to bring useful info to our readers so they can exercise their duties as citizens to try to stop these crooks from destroying our democracy. Yet, I feel weak and useless too. What else can you do?

The conservatives took 20 years to get Reagan in office, and another 15 to get their infrastructure in place. One day at a time.
