You will probably recall that the entire rational for the "surge" was to calm the violence down enough so that the political processes in the country could get their act together. Well, that seems to be working really well, not:
Remember that there really wasn't any other justification for the "surge" since everyone agreed that the ultimate solution had to be political, not military.
It's time (actually long past time) to get the hell out of a war we should never have been in in the first place.
