Merrill may have $24 billion writedown

Only yesterday the NY Times reported that Merrill Lynch was likely to take a $15 billion write down due to the financial mess the country is going through. That sounded pretty bad, but today there are already rumors that next week's write down will be $24 billion. Egads. Or, as Atrios would say, "Wheeeeeeeeeee!"
