Fox "News": making Goebbels proud
Democrats are so used to having sand kicked in their faces that sometimes they don’t even bother protesting it. I cannot understand why we aren’t hearing much, much more about the memo at Fox News telling news “professionals” there to search for stories of terrorists in Baghdad celebrating the Democratic victory. Of course, we all know that Fox is a joke, but this is a damned smoking gun of the first order: Fox is using the public airwaves to pretend that it is a news channel, but this makes it crystal clear that Fox is nothing more than a propaganda organ pure and simple. Look what the right wing did to Dan Rather when he and his staff made a mistake (apparently) – even if it was one of over-eagerness (whether for news value or political leanings) to accept the truth of documents that would hurt the President as he was running for a second term.
This is a case of a so-called news organization actively seeking stories for the very purpose of discrediting the victory of the Democrats. Where is the outrage? Seems muted at best to me.

Question: Is Fox News actually on the "public airways" or is it exclusively a cable channel? I know that here in NYC there is an over-the-air Fox outlet, but I don't think it carries Fox News.
Further question from the point of view of using the "public airways:" What about cable channels aired over satellite networks? Is that use of the "public airways" in the same sense as over-the-air network TV?
These are questions that could affect what role the FCC should be playing here.
