One more Enron Dude bites the dust

Another Enron exec has been found guilty and sentenced to jail time:

HOUSTON (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Wednesday sentenced former Enron Corp. chief accounting officer Richard Causey to 66 months in prison for approving the bogus bookkeeping that led to the company's 2001 collapse.

U.S. District Judge Sim Lake set Causey's sentence at 66 months, or five and a half years. Causey, 46, pleaded guilty to securities fraud in late December 2005, weeks before he was scheduled to go on trial with former Enron founder Ken Lay and chief executive Jeff Skilling, both of whom were found guilty in May. Lay died of a heart attack on July 5.

Unfortunately, the pressure [which was never very great] to clean up corporate America seems to have subsided to next to nothing. And, with Joe Lieberman back in the Senate, we know one Democrat will be pushing for less pressure.

Since I'm retired, I have to live off my investments, and it's very troubling to see management running away with all the cookies and leaving the stockholders with nothing.
