Lies and the lying Defense Secretaries

Laura Rozen tells us that they're at it again. Remember how Bush linked al Qaeda to Iraq simply by talking about them together in the same sentence even though there was not connection? Well Defense Secy. Gates did that yesterday, saying that the Iranians were supplying sophisticated EFPs, very powerful IEDs to the Iraqis and that the IEDs are responsible for 70% of American casualties. As it turns out, of course, not all the IEDs that kill Americans come from Iran. In fact, the Defense Department says it has no idea how many actually came from Iran.

Probably none.
