Poll: Edwards is best general election candidate by a large margin

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this, since it comes from a Republican polling organization, but Rasmussen shows Edwards is far and away the best Democratic candidate in terms of general election performance. He topped each of the four leading Republican candidates by and average of 51% to 37% and, he topped each Republican by more than any other leading Democrat.

In contrast, Hillary fell behind each of the four Republicans by a percentage point or two. Obama was somewhat better than Hillary, leading all four Republicans by a percentage point or two.

If that trend persists, then we have a real chance of losing the White House once again if Hillary is the pick. That scares me, since she seems to be on a roll in the Democratic primary race.
