Weather forecasters & NH Pollsters

For the past several days, up to as recently as 7:00 pm last night, the weather forecasters around here were calling for the "first major snowstorm of the season" to hit the New York area, starting as rain around 8:00 pm last night and turning to all snow by midnight and continuing through Monday afternoon, with 4" to 8" accumulation.

I woke up around 1:30 a.m. and looked out the window. Nothing. I got up around 6:30 a.m. and looked out the window. Nothing. It's now 8:35 a.m. and the sky is blue and the sun is shining. There is no longer any significant snow in the immediate forecast.

This has not been a good month for the prognosticators. I guess I'll avoid making any economic predictions for awhile.
